Curator Dobromir Ivan presents the exhibition “Borderline States” (Border Mood), which addresses the theme of boundaries—not only physical and spatial ones but also those between us as human beings.
The exhibition will open on March 25 at One Gallery in the capital and will remain there until March 31.
Participants include Joseph Beuys, Sylvie Fleury, Sasho Stoitzov, Kalia Q. Otyorg, Rossi Getsova, Yovo Panchev and Yordanka Hristov, Ventsislav Zankov, Stefan Petrunov, Petar Tsanev, Leda Starcheva, Stanislav Pamukchiev, Bobby Stoyanov, Yuksel M., Stefan Milev, Lili Sotirova, and Ivaylo Hristov.
According to the team, the role of artists is to remove these barriers created by politics, religions, habits, and superstitions. Their goal is to present diverse techniques and strategies of contemporary authors from different generations.
“Photographer Stefan Milev presents a photograph of the Veleka River, taken between day and night, showcasing the author’s skill in handling the light and darkness within a person,” the organizers state. You can find his photography in the second issue of Obscura magazine.
“Switzerland’s Sylvie Fleury presents a bronze bag full of books—whether boring prose or elegant poetry, only she knows. The graphic work by the German Otyorg is hybrid—a unique farewell to Sofia after a long-term stay here,” the organizers further share about the exhibition.
