Exbodytion is a play on the words EXHIBITION and BODY to create EXBODYTION—translated as from/through the body. This is a term coined by the author and first used in the EXBODYTION exhibition in 2008 in the artist’s studio, when he showed a work painted with urine—the artist’s holographic code.
A similar, difficult-to-translate term was also coined by the philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy. Expeausition plays with the homonymy between the syllable ‘po’ in ‘exposition’ and the French word for skin, ‘peau’.
