Founder & Director
Desislava Zafirova is an independent cultural leader, curator, and founder of ONE Gallery Sofia. Through her practice, she has developed the gallery as a distinctive platform for contemporary art with a clearly defined curatorial vision, connecting the Bulgarian art scene with a broader international context.
Her work is grounded in careful selection and a long-term commitment to artists and their work. Zafirova approaches an exhibition not simply as a form of presentation, but as a space in which art can acquire context, conceptual depth, and the possibility of meaningful dialogue with its audience.
At the core of her approach are artistic autonomy, quality, and cultural responsibility—principles through which ONE Gallery has established its own identity and a consistent presence within the contemporary art landscape.
