A poetic series that confronts the banality and limitations of routine life and “common sense,” filtered through the creative imagination and sense of humor of the surrealist. Each of the eleven compositions/collages represents a unique, handcrafted work, combining watercolor, ink drawing, and found objects, including antique postage stamps and comics from the 1960s, as well as the artist’s personal notes. The collection serves as a foundation for understanding Raymundo Figueroa’s perception of painting as a spiritual practice and as a form of celebrating life and the pleasure of everyday existence.
