YOKO+INA is an artistic duo created by the artists Yonko Vasilev and Ina Vasileva. Both had their own artistic path and professional practice before uniting as partners in life and art in 2018. YOKO+INA functions as a conceptual platform for contemporary art that explores the connections between the object, technology, and visual culture.
In their work, the artists work with various media, including sculpture, object, installation, and painting. Their visual language combines influences from Pop Art, Minimalism, and contemporary design, often incorporating technological elements, kinetic movement, and experiments with material and form. Their works intertwine themes related to the relationship between man and woman, love, and everyday life, as well as the visual codes of contemporary culture.
The works of YOKO+INA have been presented in numerous exhibitions and art spaces in Bulgaria and abroad. Among their solo projects are “Objects & Objective Painting” at Credo Bonum Gallery, Sofia (2021), “YES” at DOZA Gallery, Sofia (2022), and “New Action Painting / Connecting Drops” at INTRO Gallery, Sofia (2023).
